Formed in oct 2002 by dan(drums) and ricki (guitar) later adding kris(bass) and nick (vocals).this line up gigged under the name fleshwound for 6 months before dan left to move to melbourne.one ratshit recording was made and the band then renamed odiusembowel.kris moved to guitar,grief drummer tim was recruited as was part -time bassist tom.gigged locally at shows such as satanfest before tom left to concentrate on his new band brutalized mortality.session bass master robert pulveriser was enlisted to help out for a deeds of flesh support slot (June 2004). this was to be our last show with tim due to personal differences.ricki then took over on drums and the band became a three piece with rob unable to commit due to work.It was six months before the new line up got there shit rolling and started playing live. The no-bass line up played several shows between February and June 2005 including audience with the devil 3 in auckland.September/october 2005 saw rob rejoin and original fleshwound drummer dan return to new zealand and play a mini nz tour-dunedin/christchurch/wellington and two auckland shows including the annual Battles in the north hardcore/metal crossover gig at the kings arms. (feb 25-06) ricki returned to the drums for another couple of shows including the convention of mass destruction(dunedin) and a chch disgorge(us) support slot.Nick then left the band after this show due to personal commitments and dan recruited melbourne based swift(passenger of shit) as the new vocalist. A north island tour was organised with the new line up around the audience with the devil 4 show as well as a recording with mike and jamie from ulcerate. Odiusembowel does a 6 date New Zealand/ Australian tour with u.s band skinless in November 06 before relocating to Melbourne in February 2007. Watch out for more NZ show's in October 2008!
